Bent pushrods
Finally starting the engine swap on my 05 rumble bee. About 6-7 years ago, my engine took a dump going about 15 mph on my way to work. Put the truck in the garage to be worked on later and finally got around to it. But I can't find the culprit of the original problem. Pulled valve covers and all my intake pushrods (both heads) are bent at like lower case j's, exhaust push rods are good. Passenger side head is fine (besides the pushrod issue) no impact to the cylinder. Drivers side still on the truck.
Engine is coming out, but can't figure out what cause the failure. Would a break in the timing gear/chain cause that? Haven't got that far to check just yet.

Odd that all the intake pushrods are bent, both sides. Does sound like the cam is out of sync with the crank, if the chain broke - you'd have some exhaust push rods bent and some intakes not. Pull the timing cover and see if the cam and crank are aligned. How many miles on this engine? I don't see how your valves are ok if the push rods are bent... that is usually due to the piston slamming into the valves - and it typically will bend the valve too. Interested to see what you find out.

Depends on the separation, these are pretty mild profiles. Perhaps the cam is out of sync with the crank that it opened the intake valves while the piston was almost at the top on the exhaust cycle - that would kink all the intake valves and likely the exhaust valves would survive.
