Default 2007 ram 1500 Open differential swap

I have a 2007 1500 with an open diff that I want swapped for a limited slip. looking for some insight into what this job would require. It has a 9.25 with 3.92 gears. Dealer said it’s easier and cheaper to replace the entire rear end but mopar discontinued the assembly. Im hoping someone has any advice for getting a junk yard rear end or installing an auburn locker. Thanks

I'd find a local shop that can swap in the limited slip you desire. Detriot TrueTrac is a decent diff. Stop talking to the dealer about an 08 truck :-)

Agree that a local shop is best place to go.
What do you have now, a 3.55 open diff? 2wd?
Junk yard. A good option, but always some risk. Make sure you know how to identify the correct rear end, and, to test it for 3.92 gearing anti-spin (limited slip).
Installing locker in current rear end (auburn, detroit, yukon). Will work fine, just remember you will need to replace pinion/ring to get the gearing to 3.92 if you are 3.55 now.
I just went through a rear end rebuild. There is a lot of info on this and many options.
HOw much of the work do you plan to do yourself, and how much are you going to have a shop do?

DTT or Auburn and call it a day. Luckily with having an open rear you've avoided the clip problem that plagued the 3rd gen 9¼'s with factory LSD (search for 'rear c-clip' on this or any Ram site).
