Thought you might enjoy some pictures of my setup. It's a York 210 on a custom mount above my alternator. Kurt Tuff hydraulic lines for air lines, they'll outlast the truck, rated for 5585 working PSI, 22,000 PSI burst, in underground mining operations. Ozone, oil, fuel, abrasion resistant.
Air bags on the rear axle with a fill valve hidden away in the glove box, and a 5 gallon air tank back near the fuel tank (not pictured). Air fitting tucked away in the front of the truck for easy access, and water/oil separator and dryer combo.
I don't run any oil in the pump, it's been filled about 1/3 of the way with moly grease for two years and it's been great. Passes almost nothing into the catch. Compressor overview. Custom mount set above the alternator. Air line overview Manifold. Blow off valve, input, output (to front), output (to air bags), limit switch, and air tank reservoir. Water/Oil separator and dryer. Front air port cover Front air port Air bag fill and purge in the glove box. Manual switches. Pump switch.
Turning the pump on kicks the idle up as well with a high idle mod.
Now that is a NICE setup. Sits up rather high though, doesn't it? I am surprised there is that much room under the hood.
Having on-board air is darn convenient. One of my favorite mods. (no, I don't have it, I don't off-road much any more..... really, I don't go much of anywhere any more. )
There's a surprising amount of headroom above the engine, I was shocked too. There's some brackets you can buy that mount it vertically on the passenger side of the motor but on my 03 there's too much cooling junk in the way.
The flow from it is wild too, It fills the 5 gallon tank to 100 psi in about 30 seconds and will sustain air tools. I can air my 35's down to 10 psi and be back up to 65 on all four before my brother in law finishes one of his with his Viair.
The pully is a Kilby 061-004, the company is gone now but you can find the pullys up for sale every so often. It lets you string a V-Belt off the end of the alternator pully
