water driping from the passenger pull handle
Hey everybody, just checking if anybody had this problem before. Every time it rains water starts to drip from the passenger pull handle. I took it to the dealer two times, they still can fix it. I'm kind of pissed, because it is a brand new truck. The first time I took, it started leaking the next rainy day, it would leak from the bottom. Next time I took it to the dealer it seemed to be fixed, there were a couple of rainy days and nothing happened, but yesterday it started dripping from the top. So I guess they just stuffed the handle inside, and it took a while for the water to come thru the top.
Any ideas?

I noticed my 05 doing this this weekend. Have not had a chance to take it to the dealership yet.
Any link to the TSB for this problem?
A little online research shows that the problem is either the body seam or the bolt that holds the weatherstriping.

Hey guys....I have a 02 Ram, and I had a water leak in my driver side handle. I had to fight with the dealership here about it. I had to record it on my digital camera to get them to fix it, but in the end it was covered by my warrenty. They said there is a TSB on the problem. Hope this helps!

I just Lemon Law'ed my Dakota for that and am taking possession of the replacement Ram1500 today or Monday.
Please, please, don't let the Ram leak also.

It wasn't a water leak that got you the lemon status was it?

Sure was.
Leaked from the driver's handle and headliner, and under the passenger dash.
Got my 2006 Ram replacement yesterday. Not a straight swap, but they took the full MSRP for the Dakota off the Ram.

My Aunt lemon-law'ed her less then 6 month old (at the time) Liberty for a leaky headliner problem. Dealer did the garden hose thing and filled all the seems with caulk, or something similar, and didn't fix the problem.
I have not noticed any problem on my Ram, but usually don't get in on the passanger side. Next time it rains I will have to check.

Yes you have a water leak. You need to take it back to the dealer to have it sealed up. There are several places it can leak where the water comes through the grab handle holes. Where the roof over laps the sides, the factory seals that area, and a skip could cause your problem You did not mention if your truck was new or used, so I will assume used. Under the black rubber seals along the door openings on the cab, is a black track. If you pull off the rubber seals you will see this track. There are five screws that hold this track on, it is possible that you have developed a leak at one of these screws. Pull the screws out one at a time, and put in some RTV sealer in the hole, and then put the screws back in. If your vehicle is covered under warranty, then have the dealer fix it.
