Default Led help

So today I bought LED Sylvania headlight bulbs from advance auto. I plugged them in and turned them on and the high beams are good they are bright and work but when I switch it to low beam it just blinks. It will blink.........blink........blink.........blink and my gauge cluster says lamp out and days the lowbeam lamps are out. Does anyone know how to fix this? They were 100$ and they have a little box that is wired in with the lights thanks

You need to wire an LED headlight resistor in parallel with the LED bulb. A lot of LED headlights advertise being "smart" and being able to fool our lamp-out systems but I've rarely found any that work 100% of the time. But a resistor does.

I've actually got an old turn signal bulb wired in with one of mine right now to correct your same issue. It's tucked up behind the headlight housing. The truck sees the incandescent bulb and goes "oh hey, cool a bulb is there"

Everybody need to STOP installing these illegal blinding headlights

Just you wait, I am actively petitioning my state and federal legislators to resume vehicle inspections and to make DIY head light bulb changes "For Professional Use Only"

This is WAY OUT OF HAND

Trust me I’m with on how they blind you. They are not illegal. I had some and didn’t like them at all so I went back to regular bulbs. Good luck on getting anything changed. My state is getting rid of state inspections starting next year. In my opinion this is a good thing, it was just a money grab for the government and didn’t provide any safer vehicles. As far as requiring them to only be “professionally installed “can happen all you want. That’s just like labeling something as “off road use only”, it still gets put on for regular driving.

yes I helped out the OP. Things are expensive these days and if I can prevent someone from wasting money or screwing up their ride, I will help them even if I don’t like what they are doing.

Ok Karen.

In other news, I run projector housings, my LED bulbs are perfect in them and they're properly aligned.

This!!! I hate when people put LEDs or HIDs in a headlight housing made for halogen bulbs and do not make proper alignments for the beams.
