Yes it was. I had a heck of a time finding a motor. Wreckers wanted close to $3000 for one with 300,000 km (186,000 miles)

Yes I did, I was planning on rebuilding it.
Thats what I was thinking as well. It'll get me by for now. Luckily enough this is #1 cylinder, I can do everything in the truck.

Well I hope all new gaskets and "O" rings on injectors fixes isdue.

Thanks for the reply, i never thought of injector "O" ring in trying to diagnose the problem.

Trouble shooting: With the vehicle running, spray some wd-40 around the base of the injectors and listen for a change in idle as the oil is temporarily sealing or getting sucked into the intake..

Should be installing new injector seals every time injector is removed. I also use a little silicon grease on the injector o-rings to help them get installed without getting 'rolled' into an odd position. The best position for an installed o-ring is the natural position.
