If you didn't trade in your original knocking engine, might be able to get one good piston out of that one and get back on the road. Have the head checked though, due to piston pieces pounding it.

Thats what I was thinking as well. It'll get me by for now. Luckily enough this is #1 cylinder, I can do everything in the truck.
Well I hope all new gaskets and "O" rings on injectors fixes isdue.
Thanks for the reply, i never thought of injector "O" ring in trying to diagnose the problem.
Trouble shooting: With the vehicle running, spray some wd-40 around the base of the injectors and listen for a change in idle as the oil is temporarily sealing or getting sucked into the intake..
Should be installing new injector seals every time injector is removed. I also use a little silicon grease on the injector o-rings to help them get installed without getting 'rolled' into an odd position. The best position for an installed o-ring is the natural position.
