I'll be speaking with the Ram dealer this week to find out for sure on the Dodge front axle and otherwise I'll see if I can come up with the old GM specs too.
Dude, you know nothing about four wheel drive systems. You are wasting your time. Front and rears are geared the same...

I'm almost scared to ask why you are even wondering about the front gears to begin with... [sm=bangbang.gif]

Go ask the dealer, I am sure the service writer needs a good laugh. There is not a manufacturer out there that uses different ratios in a 4wd vehicle. There is no reason. You can check old GM specs until your eyes pop. IT NEVER HAPPENED! Did the vehicle that you owned have different ratios? Possibly so, because some tweaker either wanted a faster vehicle [sm=icon_rofl.gif] or they hatched the rear 10 bolt and could only find one with 4.10 gears in it.

Hi guys!!!

Okay, the modern "full-time" Dodge trucks utilize the NV242 transfer case spec'dwith a 48/52 torque split indicating both front and rear axle gear ratios are identical.

The original '70's NP203 full-timers ran slightly different ratios front and rear, i.e. 3.54/3.55. Whichever end has the shorter gear set gets the majority of power in unlocked mode.

This subject always screws people up. LOL

If I were you, I'd save myself the embarrassment of what the guys at the dealer are going to say to you. I've heard of different gears front to rear, its like the guy above said front 3.54 andrear 3.55. It would only be a very slight difference. Not 3.42 front and 4.10 rear.

i agree with the above comment...if the rear ratio in a production truck is 3.92, the front should be 3.91. The slight difference is because, with the higher ratio in the front, the front will pull enabling you to turn well in slippery conditions, like snow.
