Default Transmission problem:

I have a 05 2500 diesel 4x4 with the automatic transmission. It has 186000 miles on it. Fluid and filter was changed recently . This is in 1st but it’s either slipping or a torque converter issue, then at 60mph or so ,it downshifts and won’t shift back till I am going downhill . The trans temp light comes on at times .
What is Dodge service going to do? I have 3000 miles and 3 months left on my extended warranty. Are repairs possible or is this time to rebuild trans?

Even if it needs a rebuild, it should be covered under your warranty. I would get it into the dealer as soon as you can, just to have the issue documented if nothing else.

When these transmissions go bad, what are the symptoms? I have this feeling that service will tighten bands and call it good.
My scanner can’t communicate with the trans module so I can’t see any info that it might hold. Would a heavy load left in the bed help me, ? That’s when I see the problems. Will the lifts i the service area lift the truck 9000 lbs and a load of madrone in the bed 3000 plus lbs. If I tell service that I think my turbo is not working ,how can they show me proof that it is providing boost?
Is it safe to put a.truck on a dyno with my problems? Truck also has a cel that comes up high line pressure.

Default 2005 ram 2500 5.9L

Sorry to hop onto your thread I can’t figure out how to make one.

But I have a 2005 ram 2500 with about 220k on it the transmission has about 30-40k on it. Around a month ago it started to need higher RPMs to shift into over drive. I took it to a shop and they told me the truck was in limp mode because it need injectors. Granted it did but I wouldn’t think that would make a difference. But I put injectors in it and now the motor runs like a top still no OD. I pulled the pan to change the fluid and she was spotless just a little film on the magnet and nothing else. I replaced the OD switch, the pressure transducer and pressure EPC solenoid. When I put it all back together I only had 3rd gear. I found that a bad transducer will do that. So I pulled the pan agin and put the old transducer back in and now it shifts.

but not correctly it’s getting me closer to OD but not letting me have it. It shifts fine 1,2,3, then a bump and get about 60MPH at 2100RPM where I used to be at 75MPH (before issues started) . before I replaced everything I didn’t get that bump and got about 52MPH at 2100 RPM.

I have tried a OD jump switch that didn’t work.

and know I don’t know what else to do. Any help would be appreciated.
