Default 2005 ram 2500 won’t shift into Overdrive

I have a 2005 ram 2500 with about 220k on it the transmission has about 30-40k on it. Around a month ago it started to need higher RPMs to shift into over drive. I took it to a shop and they told me the truck was in limp mode because it need injectors. Granted it did but I wouldn’t think that would make a difference. But I put injectors in it and now the motor runs like a top still no OD. I pulled the pan to change the fluid and she was spotless just a little film on the magnet and nothing else. I replaced the OD switch, the pressure transducer and pressure EPC solenoid. When I put it all back together I only had 3rd gear. I found that a bad transducer will do that. So I pulled the pan agin and put the old transducer back in and now it shifts.

but not correctly it’s getting me closer to OD but not letting me have it. It shifts fine 1,2,3, then a bump and get about 60MPH at 2100RPM where I used to be at 75MPH (before issues started) . before I replaced everything I didn’t get that bump and got about 52MPH at 2100 RPM.

I have tried a OD jump switch that didn’t work.

and know I don’t know what else to do. Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like you are getting everything BUT Overdrive.... Is the O/D Off lite in the dash on?

The switch on the column (is that where it is??) is a momentary On (when you press it) switch. All it does is send a 5 volt return signal to the PCM telling you you want to enable/disable O/D. (just depends on what state it is currently in.) Does the lite do anything when you press the switch? Do you have a scanner that can read live data??

The tow haul button and light works. When I press it going down hill the RPM’s spike same thing when I’m lugging up a hill so the TC is locking up like it should.

I am probably going to replace the pressure solenoid agin and see what that dose.

And I am poor and don’t have a live data scanner. Lol

Nope. That's O/D your are getting. I suspect what you are NOT getting is TCC lockup.

Not 100% sure this is the right test but read it on another form.

I believe the TCC is locking up just fine.

I put the truck in tow haul took off in first gear then shifted too 2nd kept going then felt a bump with RPM’s dropped then shifted to Drive for 3rd same thing after a few seconds a bump and RPM drop. So I believe the TC is locking up just fine.

maybe replace the OD solenoid agin? That one I bought could have been bad?

I replaced the pressure solenoid and the OD switch.

Now the truck will take off sometimes I now have to flutter the gas pedal to get it to grab a gear and start moving. It is considerably worse if I’m drive slow before take it off (turning onto a road) once it takes off it drives fine ish not shifting like it should. But still stuck at 55MPH.

FML. This truck will be the death of me.

I would be real tempted to do the governor stuff again. solenoid AND sensor. Get the borg warner heavy duty solenoid kit......
