Default Oil Pressure Switch

Recently bought a 2005 Ram 1500 with a 4.7 in it.
2wd
Changed the oil the next day and threw the sending unit/switch.
Got the new switch and overtightened it slightly (hadn’t felt like it was getting tight)
So I have got another new switch, seems to snug up decent at least, but I’m afraid to overtighten again.
I do a few quarter turns, try to start, and oil spews out from some leak at the base of the unit where the threads are.
I tried threading the old switch back in and it’s obvious that the old one no longer fits as it almost wobbles out and never gets tight.
Ive heard that I can use a tap, but I am not very mechanically inclined.
Can I use some form of coupling/nipple to thread into the engine, and then thread my switch into that?

EDIT:

Tried it anyway and a considerable chunk of the thread housing cracked off.

Will JB weld help me, or can I plug the sensor housing entirely? Last of my money went into this truck and if I can’t mcgyver it, then I’m screwed

I’m sure you can clog it up somehow but it’s going to keep throwing lights and codes when ever it’s running. I don’t remember if that screws straight into the block or something else that does since it’s been so long that I had to do it. It’s eventually going to have to be fixed right. I can’t stand not having some sort of an oil pressure gauge
