Hello! I have an 04 Ram 1500 woth a Hemi. Last week we had a REALLY cold one, getting down to -50 with wind chill. The truck is usually a tank under any circumstances, but about 2 days ago my 4x4 stopped engaging. Its a floor shift manual 4x4 with auto transmission. Was driving to work and realized that I was sliding allover the road because I had no four wheel drive. The shifter will go into high or low and the indicator light in the dash comes on, but no 4x4! I also noticed getting it home that it doesn't want to shift into 4x4 on the fly, no matter the speed. I've done some work on dodge auto 4x4s and a lot of engine work, but this is foreign territory for me. Any ideas are greatly appreciated!
