Default 2008 4wd Dodge ram 2500 drive shaft problems

4wd drive shaft problem is that I have replaced it twice already and it just broke again inside that ridiculous knuckle it has. Was just wondering if others have that same problem and if there is a fix for it.

Front or rear shaft? Is it a CV joint?

It's the front shaft from the transfer case with that weird knuckle at the transfer case end. All have failed in that knuckle in the same spot.

Yes it is I'm pretty sure. Tires are 35s and don't rub so most likely yes. Previous owner lifted.

Probably need to get a high angle shaft, or re-clock the t-case so it's lower.

Thank you for the advice I'm going to look into that.

You could take it to a off-road specialty shop and have them identify how much lift (maybe manufacturer) and check it over for correct installation. They are typically well versed on problems associated with lift kits and how to address those properly.

Default Pretty sure I figured it out

When taking apart the u-joints I noticed that the guy who rebuilt and messed up my 68rfe recently took apart the u-joint at on end and didn't mark the orientation of the shaft. Put it back in 180 degrees backwards. I noticed a slight vibration but thought initially it was my tires and did not discover what it really was until it was too late after going 700 miles. Even when you get a new shaft if needed pay close attention to any slight vibration
