****ing issue
I have a 2004 Ram 1500 5.7 liter with 209053 miles. I bought this truck with the blown transmission. Since its repair i have this weird shift into 5th. when I get up to 50 / 55 MPH it will shift and if I lift off the throttle it will shift down then back up. Sometimes with a pretty good jerk.
I returned to shop and they replaced a shifting solenoid that was already new. Still same issue. Was told to drive 500 miles to see what happens. I later took to another shop for second opinion and computer shows no codes. Nor could they give me an answer. They recommended a two hour diagnostic then said they weren't sure if they could promise to find issue. Has anyone ever had an issue like this. Truck runs great other than this issue.
Thanks, Lodijerry

I remember reading something about a modified pressure sensor offered by SONEX that might have had something to with funky shift.
Also, who did the transmission rebuild? Are you certain they used ATF+4 transmission fluid?
Are these computer controlled transmissions? Did the rebuilder have to do some sort of tcm programming like recalibrate the CVI'S (clutch volume indexes)

When I DIY rebuilt my Chrysler A-604, I was able to do a quick learn on my new transmission with a Snapon Versus edge, so not only a DRBIII at a stealership.
I am curious to know how it all turns out.
Do they end up drive until it behaves, relearn at a dealership and how much does it cost, does a transmission or local shop perform the relearn and what do they charge them on march 2024 dollars...
I can't stress enough how much better this digital forum would be if only everyone return and give up the solution.
I bet the OP is here because he web searched and found folks with a similar problem, folks like us offer solutions (some good and some mis guiding) then the patron gets their vehicle running and never cares to return and tell what worked and what did bupKiss
Please help us to help y'all
cheers,
