Default Fried radio

Couple years ago I had a Bluetooth transmitter plugged into the power outlet. In the middle of a song the radio died and stopped displaying. A few seconds later there was a burning smell in the cabin. I tried swapping the radio out and there’s still no power to it. Could it be the wiring?

That'd be a safe bet. What did the wiring/connectors look like when you did the swap?
