Default How do the hemi's do with higher miles?

anybody running a Ram with a hemi and some higher miles? I am wanting to upgrade to one but want to know how well they perform. Let me know what mileage you have and if you have had any problems.

I posted my truck for sale so I can upgrade

Broken valvesprings seem to be the most serious thing showing up,
sometimes with the valve being dropped into the cylinder,
which trashes that cylinder.

83k miles on an 04 with 4x4.

No problems other than leaking steering rack.

My truck gets better gas mileage than my 2 friends new 05's

I own a 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 QC SLT 4x4 w/hemi and it has approx. 19,790 miles on it. I also put some different 20" wheels on it as we go out to the desert a lot. I get great gas mileage in town and out of town. I've had no problems with my hemi at all. This is my 2d truck I own that has a hemi.

I recently changed the gear oil as it was low. My brother used the truck to haul a small truck. The truck rode well but we brought it in anyway to change the oil and have the gear oil
added and checked. Its a great truck.

have done a few tune ups on a couple of high mileage hemis. they seem to be doing real good. the broken valve spring issue, i have come accross once at the shop and that was when they first came out. as long as you keep it maintained as with anyother car you shouldnt have any problems. keeping oil changed on schedule is a must and fuel induction serv every 30 or 40 thousand miles help to.

57,000 on my 04. No problems yet. I have been using Mobile 1 since day one.

58,000 on my '04. The only problem I had was an EGR valve failure. Other than that, still running strong and continues to be a joy to drive, even with high gas prices.

They seem to get better MPG's the more miles you put on them.

Got an 05 with 57,000, I put all but 4 on it since 2/05. Had a little smoke at startup twice (total).
Checked oil level, was about half to 3/4 of an inch over the full line.
Drained and refilled, good as new. No problems other than the crap-***
stock cd player and having to buy tires for the 20" rims.
I don't even want to talk about the gas issue, but thats not what
I bought it for.

I guess I win the high milage contest with 65,000 on it. Like Mazz I got a new EGR valve under warranty. The tech said that the repacement EGR was different, like dodge decided they needed to improve it some. They were able to replace it so quickly the old one was still hot to the touch when he showed it to me. Not a big deal at all. Other than that it has been fine. I put 80 miles round trip to work 5 days a week, thats why it has so many miles for an 04. Still happy with the truck, no power loss or anything else.
