Door handle bolts

Does anyone know the specs of the bolt used to hold down the door handle on a 2008. I had stripped the metal on the door where the bolt grabs onto and now the bolt wont stay put. So I was thinking of putting a nut on the other side of the bolt in order dor it to stay
