2002 dodge ram 5.9 3rd gen 4x4
Can I take a 2 Wheel Drive transmission out of a 2002 dodge ram 5.9 and put it in my four-wheel-drive Dodge can I takeoff the tail shaft of the 2 Wheel Drive transmission and put my four-wheel-drive overdrive body on it

Theoretically, that is possible, the problem becomes, what other junk are you bring over? The previous trans failed for a reason, and it tends to scatter junk throughout the entire trans, which includes the O/D unit. You may install it, only to have it blow up again in a week.

The 2 Wheel Dr. transmission is perfectly fine. There’s nothing wrong with it. I had it in a two drive truck that blew up and my 4 wheel drive truck the transmission has been screwed since the day I got it.
