Default 06 dodge ram 1500 mega cab 5.7l hemi

Looking to get help I’m stumped as of now I got lead in the wrong direction on my 06 ram 1500 MC!

My trucks motor blew a rod so I went looking for a new motor I was told as long as it was a 5.7 hemi and the same year truck as my current truck that the motor would work for my truck! So I got a motor from a 06 dodge ram 1500 but it was a crew cab and they installed it in my truck and it will crank but will not turn over. Is there anything I can do with this motor and if not why will this motor not work and what is the difference. Do I have to cut my losses again and purchase the correct motor for the mega cab?

any information would be greatly appreciated!

It will crank but not run? Sounds like something isn't hooked up correctly or fuel pump is dead.

There should be no issues with using that engine. One thing to know is the 06 1500 is an MDS motor, but the default is normal operation. So it shouldnt effect anything.

As long as it was good before it should work. Check all electrical connections and make sure it's in neutral or park; something is preventing spark. Maybe check your ASD relay, but in cases like this unless the replacement engine is bad, more often than not it is something missed or squished during the install process.
