Default What else can cause the same pushrod to bend?

My 2007 2500 hemi, has bent the same pushrod twice in 25 miles. During those 25 miles, it ran perfect. No ticks, no hiccups, nothing.

but #2 cylinder has bent the same rod twice.
I pulled the head, and the lifters look great. I scoped the cam shaft, it looks great.
the rod is found outside its rocker cup, so the intake valve doesn’t open all.

The intake and exhaust push rods are different lengths. After the 2nd push rod failed. And you had the cylinder head off. I would install a new set of lifters. Also check your rocker arm shaft too. These motors are notorious for camshafts going flat.

I checked the can for flat spots…none. I examined the lifters, and they look just fine.

the rocker arm…..maybe
a broken valve spring….maybe.

The lifters have roller bearing? I have seen these go bad on the 3.6 engines. They look good, but they were not.
