I have a 2002 Dodge ram 1500 4.7L vin: 1D7HA16N82J251800. I have ordered new valve cover gaskets from Rockauto and went to my local Autozone and both did not fit my valve covers. Has anyone else had this issue and if so then how can I find the right gaskets for my valve covers?

 

There is only one version of the 4.7...... I come up with FEL-PRO VS50521R... Is that what you are getting?

 

Yes thats the same one that i keep getting. But its not even close to the same shape that will fit in the groove on the valve covers.

 

There probably is a distinct left and right, front and back.... So far as I know, valve covers should be the same, 2002-2007, at the very least.....

 

Fel-Pro VS50521R... yep, that's the one I used on my 4.7L Dakota. Are you sure it's oriented right? Maybe turned inside out? Roll it between your fingers....
