Default 08 5.7 engine swap into a o5 with a blown 4.7

They are both 3rd generation ram 1500 quad cab 4x4 trucks and both hemis but the 08 was roled but still runs and drives that I bought from a friend for $1800. I was told that everything was the same and it would be a easy swap. If anyone can help me out and let me know if it will work and what is expect with getting it done I would be a very happy man. Any help will be appreciated

Let me understand, You have a 2005 1500 with a 5.7 that is blown engine and you want to replace it with a 5.7 from an 2008 1500. The engines may look the same, but maybe some other changes you may not see. Like the flex place, injector, timing and some small other details. I would if you are going to replace the motor with an 2008 1500. I would have the side by side before installing into the truck.

The 05 has a blown 4.7 and the 08 has the low miles 5.7 and I was told that they are both gen 3 and the only difference is that the clips in the wiring changed but could easily be charged and the 5.7 truck is complete with all of the wiring and thank you for answering me and I hope that it will still help comparing them side by side but if they will not be compatible I think that I can sell the 08 fairly easy as is complete and buy and motor that will be more of a match because it is clean and I was wrong about it being rolled it had a wiring problem from a botched alarm installer that messed up the tipem and my friend just bought himself another truck and I needed a motor and it cost what I was getting quoted for a used motor and I didn't want to get another 4.7 if I could avoid it but I know very little about hemis but would consider myself as a decent mechanic and fabricator and would be able to get it done with the help me people that do know yhe 3rd generation hemis and I value any advice and I will take the direction that y'all can give me I'm just wanting to get my truck back on the road and this was dropped in my lap and it was a deal that I felt would be bad to refuse.

You may have a problem switching from a 4.7 to a 5.7. Wiring and computer (PCM) As well has the flex plate. I recommend to find a reman motor 4.7 and all you nee to do install it. But also remember, the 4.7 has two different timing sprockets on the right side camshaft. Some years had a running change.

Default I've decided to use body and suspension parts from the 05 to replace removed and get

Thank you for answering my post.i have both full vehicles complete and I am now thinking of possibly getting the o
08 put back together with my 05 as the doner vehicle now if I can figure out the tipm problem and I have been getting some very good information on here for trouble shooting them and unlike my friend I don't feel like it is worthless or more of a problem than it's worth and putting the dashboard and body panels from my 05 and swapping out the CV axle would be fairly easy seeing as they were removed from the 08 when he gave up on it. So now it's going to come to the tipm in the 08 I think at this point.please send any ideas or suggestions.
