Default Does new camshaft position sensor for ‘05 Ram 1500 5.7 O-ring already installed?

I changed out the camshaft position sensor and forgot about the manual saying to examine the o-ring on the old sensor. Does this mean that the new
sensor does not come with a new o-ring already installed on the sensor? Thanks in advance.

Probably wants you to be sure the old 0-ring has been removed and not left in place.

If the cam sensor needs a 0-ring a new one would come with the sensor.
No manufacturer would rely on a old used o-ring to seal their product and get a bad reputation because of a old o-ring.

Question is now, does your old cam sensor have a o-ring or did it get left in the engine?

Thank you. I thought I’d check the forum before I dug the old one out of the trash can.

Old sensor did have the o-ring on. It fell apart pretty easily when I pried on it. Crankshaft sensor and cam sensor both replaced, now to do a computer reset.

Did you just replace and start? I replaced mine and it won't start. Any ideas..?

Did it run before you replaced sensor? Did you do the reset procedure? If not, cam and crank may be out of sync.

Some aftermarket sensors have different specs, maybe to long or to short. Not picking up signal. I had that on a ABS sensor before
