Default Crankshaft compatibility 53021300AA VS 53021300AD

I’m rebuilding 5.7 Hemi out of a 05 Ram 2500. The 5&6 bearings went out damaging the crankshaft 53021300(AA). I found a used crankshaft on marketplace 53021300(AD) for $150 and it was in great shape. I called dodge parts and asked what the letters were and they said it could be a later model or different manufacturer but as long as the numbers are the same it should be compatible. So I bought the crankshaft and installed. All seemed good until I installed the timing chain assembly. The crankshaft chain gear ⚙️ when installed against the bevel on the crankshaft sticks out to far and keeps the chain outside the bottom of the chain tensioner. So obviously not compatible but thought I’d see if anyone new more about this.

Is the gear seated all the way?? Does it matter which way it gets installed??? (are there alignment dots on both sides of the gear?)

Yes the gear is seated and facing the right direction. The only thing I can think is that the bevel where the crank shaft comes out of the engine is longer. And I scraped the original crankshaft so I can’t compare. Rookie mistake.

Ooops. Yeah, I was just gonna ask about that. I don't think running it like that would be a good idea...... Is there another new one layin' about at some parts store you could compare it to? I wonder if that one just wasn't machined properly.
