I never tried slow and fast gas pedal application out of gear. I should have tried that.
I guess I was worrying so much about burning my cats with the rich mixture I stopped running it.
In gear cold in driveway it will spin the tires forwards and back.
I pull out of the driveway and start driving around near my house it starts intermittently doing overly slow idling and
bad hesitation with occasional stall using a casual driving foot.
However if I get it passed this bad idle/off idle it will get into passing gear and go.
All the while of this. Hitting all the cylinders... Or it feels nice and smooth like it's hitting all the cylinders.

I have not driven it around the block today now that I have erased my computers memory.
Oh well. Had to anywho as I needed to check all the wiring.

Forgot to mention. My brother suggested I unplug the computer for a while anyway and see if it fixed itself.
Like the computer may have gotten confused or something. I've seen so many other gizmo's have to be
unplugged and plugged back in X~) (inet modem much!) hehe

Dude. I may have to take this thing out again tomorrow to see if it's still pissy. But if it's magically fixed by
either a computer reset or my reseating of every other plug and socket in the engine bay 8~O

Disconnecting the battery does the same thing. The PCM forgets everything it every knew about running your engine, and starts relearning from nothin' when you start it up again. All it has to go by is it's programming.

If you only get the off-idle stumble when the engine is warm, or, not quite warmed up...... I would wonder about O2 sensors......

O2's you think? If so the failure was abrupt. Working perfect to dying just onset like a snap of the fingers.
At the initial failure the drivetrain was at full working temp. Maybe I'll just pop out the TPS and give it a quick
squirt of electrowash and pop it back in then drive it till it codes out again.
If it throws me a different code then I at least have more data.

Thanks for the tips. Hopefully I'll have more news later this week.

The trouble is, could be any number of things. TPS is certainly on that list..... If the voltage blips a little bit at some point, the PCM may interpret that is either extreme of throttle opening, and adjust fueling accordingly, but, it doesn't see the corresponding change in manifold pressure.... and sets a map code.
Are we having fun yet?

All failed. Problem unchanged.
Talked to a lot of mechanics. Walked them through all I've posted here.
Their opinion:
Apparently when the ECU tries to 'close those servo loops' after the engine is warming up it fails.
Sorry if the wording is wrong. I'm an electronics tech and cpu's lock loops all the time. Many analog like this truck.
ECU failure is almost for sure.
I can't believe we danced around that very point. I was worried about that ALUMINIUM BOX!

Thanks for the feedback HeyYou ;~)

Computer replaced. Symptom is exactly the same.
I'm stumped.

Time to do some data logging, and see what things look like. TPS, MAP, fuel trims and O2 sensors methinks.
