Default 48RE Transmission Adjustment question for a transmission specialist

I have a 2007, 5.9 Cummins with a remanufactured 48RE transmission that has 3000 miles on it now.
When I first start it in the morning and put it in reverse it seems to slip when I start backing up. once I get rolling it seems to be fine.
Drive works fine and the rest of the day the reverse is fine, I only see this first thing in the morning.
I have a good warranty but I am trying to not have to R and R it if possible.
Does this sound like a band adjustment issue or something more serous requiring me to pull it?
Any advise will be appreciated.

From the factory, (and most rebuilds....) the trans does NOT charge the torque converter in park. When the truck sits overnight, t/c will drain, so, there is a delay between when you first put the trans in gear, and when it actually fully engages. To verify this is what is actually happening, first drive of the day, start the motor, put the trans in neutral for 30 seconds, THEN select whatever gear it is you want. If it engages immediately, then yep.

Thank you for letting me know about this, I tried it this morning and it worked perfectly. No issues.
I have always had manual transmissions in my trucks and I got tired of shifting, so I figured i would get an automatic in my next truck.
I hope I don't regret it!

Awesome. Trans is working as expected then.

If you take care of it, that trans will last essentially forever... I had over 200K on my 96, and my 98 is just about 170K at this point.
