Default Difference between VIN 2 & VIN D

Can anyone plz help with telling me what the difference is between VIN 2 & VIN D when it comes to getting parts

If it helps I have a 08 Ram 1500 5.7L HEMI

VIN 2 had MDS.

MDS/non-MDS. 1500's 06+ (like your 08) have MDS vs 2500/3500's with 5.7 do not.

No you do not, as a little bit of effort in research (even just a tiny bit) would have revealed that MDS didn't exist for trucks in 2005.

VIN 2 and VIN D are simply different versions of identifiers that can indicate different trim levels, engines, or option packages.

Depending on year it's the difference between EGR/non-EGR or MDS/non-MDS and EGR/non-EGR.
