Bucking and stumbling during acceleration after 60mph in 4hi. No cel
No luck with the tps. Ultimately I may have to bring it to s shop but was thinking maybe the cel hasnt gone off b/c it has to do with my bad cat. It was throwing a cel (but no performance change) so i put an adapter+ steel wool to get the light off. It worked and ive drove it like that for at least the last 1.5 years. Maybe its time to replace? ?
All at once. I don't know if related but it happened several hours after using 4 hi on the highway.
But, given that it came on all at once, probably not the cat..
Man you really need to get in there with a code reader and look at some live data. Just the basics should not require a subscription to anything.
Any less is just self-inflicted wounds. Knowledge is power. Look for pending codes and stored codes. Look at misfire counters. This should all be virtually free, esp with a BT dongle app, but also a $15 code reader will do this stuff for you
Just one possible option:
edit: sorry forgot the board is so dumb about Amazon links, trying to grab affiliate dollars destroys the link for us all. At Amazon try searching ASIN:

Well I brought it to a shop and the verdict was: bad fuel pump (i believe it was 10 at wot) and 2 clogged cats. I swapped the fuel pump and it's back to "normal". On another note , im never using Lucas fuel injector cleaner in my truck again. My fuel pump went out about 8 months ago after using it but I thought it was a coincidence. A couple days prior to my truck acting up I swapped out a fuel injector (due to low voltage code). After I swapped the injector I used Lucas again and here we are ... Luckily I was able to warranty the pump but lesson learned. My tank can't handle Lucas.
This is just a theory, but what if the lucas fuel cleaner was helping break apart some carbon and/or other stuff? Maybe there's something that needs to be checked in the gas tank or other areas where the fuel goes through...
Fuel injection cleaner is just a bit of a solvent. Of course, so is gasoline...... Personally, I think the cleaner actually does more harm than good. It can eat the insulation of the windings in the injectors.... I don't use the stuff. Avoid it like the plague. Nothing in tank will be affected by it, possibly the pump.... but, that's about it. Any crap that it breaks loose ends up clogging the screens on the inlet side of the injectors.... On a truly neglected engine, it *might* do some good, but, in my experience, it does more harm than anything else.
