Default in-line fuel filter

I’ve been dealing with some hesitation on my ’06 Ram 1500 with the 5.7 Hemi — feels like the fuel delivery just isn’t right. My first thought was to swap out the fuel filter, but I couldn’t actually find one in the usual spots. Do these trucks use an inline fuel filter, or is it integrated into the pump assembly?
Any insight would be appreciated.

In the tank with the pump. Not serviceable.

This isn't "back in the day" lol. Some Google-Fu would've helped you. The only filter in the gasoline system in any modern EFI system (with a few exceptions, mostly European) is the sock on the end of the suction tube that is part of the fuel pump assembly inside the tank. Unless you have been feeding it the absolute worst trash gas in history (or you have like 400k miles) then it's probably not the sock filter in the tank. Check fuel pressure first, should be 58 psi. If high mileage, cleaning your injectors (or replacing them) may be in order. By cleaning I mean removing them and having them professionally done, not pouring some crap in the tank. Check plugs and of course check for codes; not all codes illuminate the MIL.
