How to bypass starter circuit 2007 ram 1500
It finally happened. The TIPM said NO to starting with the key. It will start fine when it doesn't throw a tantrum but it's been just throwing a fit and cuts power before the starter turns. So my question is, am i good to just hook up the small solenoid wire at the starter to an auxilary switch or do i need to do more work than this?
Should I cut the wire from the TIPM and cap it off or is it fine to just have the auxiliary switch on a T splice/Positap. Don't know how these computers will handle seeing voltage when it doesn't expect any.
I don't know if the PCM even cares...... The TIPM is just 'mystery electronics', I don't have wiring diagrams of the inner workings of said electronics......
In any event, you can likely tap the wire anywhere, and not worry about disconnecting it from the TIPM..... though doing so certainly wouldn't hurt.
