Default 50 Series Delta Flow Pretty Darn Good

I just had the muffler shop put the 50 series on my 2005 4.7 L QC with Duals out the rears of both tires. The sound is amazing. Not obnoxious like the 40's but a nice deep rumble and if you open it up, Holy Crap. Can't beat it for just $345 clams out the door. Welded real nice. No stinkin Clamps to spring leaks.

your right, i have the 50 series hd and i love the sound, but don't get too dissapointed if it gets quiter. after about 500 miles is seems like it became quieter.but i still like it. it's not as loud as some others but it is what i call " adult loud"

I hope they get a little quieter. I thought the wife was going to kill me when I brought the car home. But it is my truck, I think. .
I have a K&N drop in but I think I am going to go for a full CAI. I already bought one off EBAY but it was a little Cheesy except for the K&N filter it came with. Now it is sitting in a boc in my Garage.

Guess what. I got sick of the droning in 2 days. I just switched to the Magnaflow. Much better. Still has a nice rumble but hardly any resonance in the cab.

What RPM was the drone? Did your shop charge you for the replacement, or was it an even swap with a labor charge?

I've only ridden in a Ram (5.9L) with the FM50 series muffler - if you don't want loud it's not for you. If your thinking Magnaflow there are still some choices to be made. Do you want oval or round ? What size ? I've got an '05 QC Hemi and had the local shop swap in a Magnaflow 5" X 8 " Oval - it sounded okay (not great) outside but resonated something fierce in the cab. I did a little research on the web and ended up calling Magnaflow - the person I spoke with suggested the 5" X 11" (http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/s...ne=main&id=483) - which is WAY better for my taste. It sounds more "muscle car" outside but doesn't resonate nearly as bad in the cab....anyhow just a new member sharing an experience, I know there are those who love it loud so the 5" X 11 " may be too quiet for some.

I have a super 40 and love it. The cab noise does not bother me seen as how once I am in 4th gear and at 1500 rpm the noise virtually goes away.

I am not knocking the 40 series or the 50's. The humming in the Cab at around 2200 RPM was annoying. It did go away at 1800 RPM which is like 65 70 MPH on highway but I do alot of stop and go here in Florida, especially on I-95. So it is up shift, down shift and after a while the droning sound gets old. Only took 2 days for me. Maybe I'm getting old. The MagnaFlow almost totally eliminated the interior noise it is the 5X8. But I have a 4.7L. Maybe that sounds different on a HEMI. The tone outside though is deep and throaty and you don't have to go WOT to hear it. Oh and yes the shop was nice enough to do an even swap and just charged me a few clams to re weld all the seems for the new muffler.
