Before you commit to a hard cover think for a minute about how often you might need to transport something that would require that it be removed. After a while it can be a pain to have to take it on and off in those cases. I wanted a hard cover and ended up getting a soft for that reason and since then my brotherinlaw bought a new house and on top of using the truck to move him in, we been running back and forth to homedepot for building materials. So basically my hard tonneau would have been off for the past 2 months but instead the soft rolls up or back down in literally about 5 seconds. Just something to think about, if you havnt already.

Go with a Pace Edwards Aluminum Roll top cover or a Roll Bak Tonneau cover. I just ordered one last week and am waiting for it so If you want I can take pics after install and let you know.

RETRAX Roll Top Cover is awesome...here is the link http://www.rolltopcover.com/products.htm

I just put one on my 2006 Power Wagon and I love it. If I knew how to add a picture I would.

How much did the Retrax cover cost? Is it very hard to take it off if you need the full bed? I'm also looking for a cover for an 06 qc short bed. I would like the security of a hard cover, but wih the use and ease of removing it like the soft covers. Do any of the retractables covers offer good security?

it's about $1000. It is a retractable hard cover so you just slide it back if you need the bed...and it locks.

Is it easy to take out for the full use of the bed?
