I ran a 40 series on my Z-28 so I can compare directly. Now understand this is a Chevy 350 (which has a distinctive sound anyway) vs. a Mopar 287(?). Interior noise IMO is exactly the same. Deep low grumble and a steady drone at about 2000 rpm's - not so much you can't stand it but enough to know it's there. Exterior noise is not quite the same. The 40 series has a "cleaner" rumble - like sound just vibrating from everywhere - but the glasspack has the sound of the old style muscle cars which I like. I don't know how else to explain it. All I can say is in parking garages and under overpasses, you can really hear it roar. When my wife turns on to the road in front of our house - about 1/2 mile away - I can hear her coming. My dog has learned the sound of our truck and gets all excited. It's the funniest thing.

Its Vs a MOPAR 345.

I have the 4.7 so it's not the 345.....

You have the 345 which will sound better than mine!

My flowmaster super 40 (3" in/dual 2.5 out) sounds awesome on start up and after it is warmed up. Have been approached a couple of times about it (wanting to get one of their own).
