Rusty Ram w/ 10k
Wow, never heard of that happening. I had a small bubble on my front bumper from a bad coat of clear on it and I fixed it. The only rust I have is in the bed at the bottom on the inside of the tailgate. I'm sure it is due to hauling wet manure that gets hung up underneath the plastic drop in. I plan on grinding the rust off, priming and sealing and getting a spray on liner. My trailer hitch is starting to rust, but that is the problem with powder coating. It doesn't get in corners well enough.
Well, this is an interesting topic for such new trucks... I have a few different views on this as well. First off, I have an '05 Laramie with the chrome 17's and chrome bumpers. This is the first winter with the truck, and have not seen (or expect to) any rust anywhere on the truck, except maybe the exhaust. I drive mostly highway, so the truck sees very little dirt roads. I live in the Detroit area, so we get our share of salt as well. Most people that know me say I'm **** about my vehicles... for example I refuse to take my vehicles through an "automatic wash" and when I go to the quarter wash (once a week) I usually spend $5 in quarters. In the summer months I'll spend over an hour washing the truck, because I wash inside the door jambs, and dry them out also..... Anyway, I don't expect to see and rust for a very long time.
Secondly, I used to work for the Proving Grounds, and we never washed the vehicles out there, and I can't remember one time ever seeing rust like the truck in the pics.
After thinking rust that soon was impossible, I just got done talking to an engineer here at work, who drives an '04 quadcab, and he said he just had the rear bumper replaced a few weeks ago for rust problems. Although, I had to call him out on it, because he lives on a dirt road, and rarely washes the truck..... or at least I've never seen it clean.
With all that said, trucks this new, no matter the mileage, shouldn't rust that fast. But to anyone that needs tips on washing the vehicle (haha) remember, rust doesn't form the visible body panels. It always starts in places you can't see. Like the door jambs; the inside/bottom of door skins, and inside rocker panels. Also remember to wash off your engine frequently in the winter, to avoid rust on engine components.
.... just my 2 cents...

Well, here's the update - a good dealer is everything.
Rims & caps are being replaced.
Antenna being replaced.
Wiper delay problem fixed (after another dealer tried) - turns out it something there was corroded as well.
Bumpers were ok - turns out it is just the metallic brake dust rusting on the surface - showed me on the tailgate & other cars.
Gave me a loaner with 4.7 - GLAD I GOT THE HEMI!!!
