Default HID Lamps and fogs

Hi all. I am considering doing the hyper white lights on my Ram, which I believe that is what HID stands for. Should I replace the whole light/signal assmbley, or just get the conversion for the bulbs. What did you guys do with the fog lights? I couldn't see leaving them with the normal lights.

Any ideas? Pics? Opinions?

THanks,

Chris

I was looking at both options. I don't want to 'cheap out' and just do the bulbs, so I guess I was looking at the full HID conversion. I wouldn't want to just 'Wal-mart', not that theres anything wrong with that, like the Civic next-door. You know what I mean?

Who makes the best full conversion?

THanks,

Chris

I'm pretty sure it's illegal to install HID (which, btw, stands for High Intensity Discharge) lights on any vehicle that did not come with them from the factory. OEM vehicles with HID lights also have computer-controlled levelling systems that make sure every time you start the car that the lights are pointing in the correct direction. Switching to the white-hot bulbs will make a big difference in the lighting you get (typically), I think that's your best bet.

Do the Silver Stars or equivalent give the same look as the HID lights? I mean, I want to have that better lighting that the HID will give me, don't don't wanna break the law. So would the bulbs give that to me?

Thanks,

Chris

I can say that the silver Stars give a good white light, should run you about $80 for all four.
They give a good light, and you can see how they give you a whiter light compared to other trucks/ and then almost the same as some high end lights when you drive at night you can see what I mean.

Thanks Fireman, but I got one more question and I will be done. I am going to go with the Silver Stars, but am not sure which I need. Do you know which part numbers you used? Fog and head lamps. Thanks a lot and I apologize for bothering you..

I have silverstars and the sizes you need are..... 9006 fogs and 9007 headlights, you will notice a diferance.... alot crisper & more of a pure white beam. The actual HID set up is still the brightest your gonna get but you won't pass inspection, at least not in Jersey.
