Default BAAAAAAAAAAAAD night...

So, last night I was at my father-in-laws for his 57th birthday, and we were outside talking trucks, I took him for a spin now that I've got my resonator pulled off... And we put it in 4-LO and romped around for a bit... In 4-LO with no resonator, this truck sounds absolutely monsterous, it was so much fun... But we couldn't get a really good idea of how it sounded from outside, because of all the wind noise... It was snowing pretty bad here last night...

So well, we pulled back up to the house, and thought, hey why not opened the door and put my foot on the brakes and revv the engine up a little bit to hear what the exhaust sounds like when we're at a dead stop... So I put my foot on the brake and lightly depress the gas, only up to about 2500rpm or so, and then guess what happens...

GRRINDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD SNAP CRACKLE POP PING DING... ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh**** dropped the friggin' transfer case...

I mean WTF man... I know this hemi is powerful and everything, but the damn truck ripped itself a new bunghole...

was the trans in nertual and was the transfer still in 4LO? i can't believe that would have happened if you had both in nertual.

sounds like he was trying to powerbrake while still in 4-low... That's one way to turn a couple grand into oily bits and pieces all over the floor...

I bet he was pissed that he ended up with all your tranny fluid all over his garage floor[sm=jawdrop.gif]

I'll bet he was even more pissed when he realized he just ruined his shirt from rolling around on the floor laughing so hard

Seriously Rob, I'm sorry to hear you broke your truck, and learned a really hard lesson the hard way about 4 wheel drives, especially with bigger motors

Best of Luck with it, I hope you get it fixed soon

You were driving around on the street with the truck in 4wd?? I hope you have a full time t-case. You should never drive around in 4wd on dry ground. You will hatch the tcase. Besides, driving around in 4 low to sound cool is pretty gay.

4hi, 4low, what difference does it make -- power braking while in 4wd, especially with the power potential of the Hemi, sure doesn't leave much for options regarding an outlet for the torque... If it was in 4low, that just multiplied the torque into a bigger mess (or grenade as the case was).
