Fire10, Put your truck info in your profile.
I recently switched to 5w-20 Amsoil in mine. I have noticed that it turns over a little easier on really cold mornings---below "0".

I am a Mobil 1 guy...I have used it for years and think it's the best, however I have not looked into Amsoil at all...I saw some guy on here saying that Amsoil has a webpage that shows statistics on why it's best...I assume its www.amsoil.com ? If anyone on here has an opinion on which is best it might help both of us guys out...thanks...

I swear by it and at it. To get it at the "Dealer's Price" you have to become a "preferred customer" which amounts to a $20.00 membership fee per year. The "dealer price" on Amsoil products has gone up three times in the last year or so. Mobil 1 did better in an INDEPENDENT oil test. The figures/statistics you see on the Amsoil site are from an Amsoil associated lab.

They both work well, but overall, Mobil 1 beat out Amsoil. The biggest problem with Amsoil in the tests was thickening to a heavier weight oil. I do like Amsoil's "PI" gasoline additive, my tailpipes stay a lot cleaner when I run that stuff.......

I had a 1995 Toyota T-100 that I ran in it for 138K, then sold it. My buddy had the same exact model and he ran conventional oil and there was a huge difference in power output. His truck was very sluggish and mine had lots of power and really hauled butt and the oil difference was the oil. I now have a 06 Mega Cab that I'll be using when I get my first oil change. That stuff is awesome.

Check out their new nanofiber technology - supposed to be much better than their older cellulose filters.

I have been using Amsoil products in my truck for 3 years now with no issues.

I ran Amsoil in my vehicle for the first 2 years with zero problems as well. However, considering their prices are going up again on 1 Feb 06, I am letting my "preferred customer" status expire. But I WILL stock up on their PI fuel additive, that stuff really works and keeps my muffler tips clean. Amsoil is set up like a classic MLM system (like Amway) and is starting to suffer from an excessive number of "dealers". It's gotten so bad that the President of the company has had to issue rules concerning dealer's trying to steal another dealer's customers away.....this is in the lastest issue of the Amsoil magazine.

That said, IF they offered their products at a retail level, I would buy them. But the "system" mark-up is so great that I will gladly buy a 5 quart jug of Mobil-1 at Wally World for $20 vs double that for Amsoil (shipping included).
