Good to hear that. I was going to say to get a 04 or newer because the throttle response is much much better in the 04-05 models. And does the 05 Ram's have the MDS system.

If that is a question the answer is no. 2006, not all of them either.

I've got an 06 Sport and love it. It turns heads around town and has plenty of power when needed. The sheer size of it gives me a great view of the "scenery". The MDS was first available on the 06.

i have a 2005 ram 1500 short bed and i love it. You can just feel the power, the only trade in i would make would be for a dodge power wagon with the hemi.

You got to figure the gas mileage on any truck is not that great. That said, I have owned a HEMI since they came out in 2003. I will not own anything but now. If you drive normal, you will see decent gas mileage, if you lead foot it, then your results will suffer. When you need the acceleration, it is comforting in knowing that your pickup truck will smoke just about everything else on the road. I am an engineer and a home owner, and have no reason to own a truck other than it is nice having one to haul things when needed.

yah, i agree with all these guys. I absolutly love my hemi and i cant complain one bit about the gas mileage(of course havin 2 wheel drive helps). it has plenty of power when you need it, and hearin that hemi at wide open throttle is just a sound that no one should live without. I would not recommend a new 06 ram with the hemi, for the fact that i have heard the 06 ram hemis with the MDS feel like they have less power. I dont know because i havent drove one, nor do i have a desire to do so because i think they are ugly as hell. Hope this helps in your decision.

Thanks! How do you like the Off Road package? What exactly does come with the off road package? Heavier duty suspension? Nice looking truck.

I have one in my Magnum R/T. Then I got one in my 03 Ram. I'm so happy that I'll have a 528 Hemi in my Road Runner next month.
