He's probably upside down on it right now and is looking to totally pay it off by selling it. He's got negative equity in it, but if it only books for 22K, he's probably in trouble. I'd either pass, if that's the case, or bring him down to what YOU feel comfortable paying. Don't pay off HIS debt.
i didn't pay 30 for my daytona brand new......... well i would-a paid 38000 but that Employee plus rebate sale they had going was killer. Dealers are marking these down crazy low to get rid of them, check ebay some dealers are even listing them on there.
It really does depend on the model Daytona, # 5-75 were Nascar promotional Trucks and Circled Daytona before the Race
last year. All #1-150 were Fully loaded 5.9 High Output Hemi's All Wheel Drive Full Leather signature Trucks, Most went to Race
team's,dealer sponsors Etc. After that the Trucks could be ordered from Buyers setup how ever they wanted. There is said to be a few SRT 10 Vipered engined Daytona's out there.
So the lower the Dash # the higher the price, also Higher the Dash # the Higher the price (toward the end of production. collectors have snatched up the Rare ones, when a 1972 Hemi Cuda auctioned off for $1.5 Million for a car that sold for less then $5K Some people see the fucture of limited production trucks and Retirement Nest egg, especially in todays market Dodge only builds
12 thousand of them ALL #.
My 05 is #8468, 5.7 Hemi SLT 4x4 Quad, Borla Exhaust, ColdAir Intake Factory= Sticker $43K bought in July of 05
Am I crazy for paying that YES because by Sept when sales dropped so did the Deals on any model to get them off the lot, Employee
pricing, low interest etc. I didn't do so bad $8K down, I walked out at total price paid $31k with Tax.
What will they be worth in 20yrs?? Who knows???

lol
