Default Tint question

My 04 Quad Cab came with basic privacy glass, but I was looking for some thing a little darker. I wanted to see in anyone can post some pics and tell me the percent they used so that I can get some ideas of how it will look.

The front windows match the back privacy glass (if I remember correctly, its 5%). Its definitely cool, but its hard to see out of at night.

I was told the factory tint was 20%..??, anyway I put 5% on the back and back sides and 20% on the front sides and a 5% strip on the front.

theres no way the back factory glass is 5%, 20 at best. If you want the front to match the back go with 20, if you want the back darker go with 5 and in the front as well if you want it to match. whoever said rears were 5 were on something. you cant see through 5, thats limo tint.

You can look at the print on the glass corner to tell what the light transmission is. I beliee it is around 20-21, I'd have to check.

I just got mine to match all the way around. I don't think I have any side views of my truck after tint was installed, but I'll check.

Check my photo album and you'll see a pic without tint, but I don't have any with tint.

I just bought a 05, and I had a buddy tint mine, he used to own a tint shop. He matched mine up with the rear windows and put 15% on.

You might want to check your local laws. In Texas 35% is the darkest you can have on the front windows legally. Rear door windows and back glass can be 5% and the "eyebrow" on front cant be greater than 6" .

My sister had 35% on her front windows and STILL got a ticket even though she had just had it inspected the day b-4. For whatever reason she did not fight it. It was like $130 or something.

The rear glass is a little bit darker than 20%, I will post some pics of my 05 with 20% on the front doors and fatory on the back two doors. It is a little lighter. For some reason the factory tint on mine was only on the rear two doors. I put 5% on the back window and 20% on the front two doors.

I have some pics posted around here somewhere, I will locate them and post them in here so you can see the difference.

I left the back glass alone and tinted the fronts at 25%...my truck is black with dark interior so its plenty dark looking during the day and i can still see out of it at night.

look at my gallery for pics.
