got 05 ram with 3000 miles on it and getting ready to tow with it . is there any brek in requirement for the rearend
hope its not like nissan titan (50 miles stop cool ,50 miles stop cool for 5000miles!!)

by the way i will start light but going up to 8000-8500 lbs 24 ft car hauler

I don't know what DCX says to do but when I had my gears changed the company said not to tow anything until I did at least 500 miles of stop-n-go driving.

 

You're good to go by DC specs. When I towed for the first time, I was sure to avoid full throttle starts from a stand still, not that I would do that any way. I just got it nice and easy up to the desired speed and kept it there. Make sure you turn the O/D off with the tow/haul button. Also, I always make sure there is 89 in the tank when I tow to prevent pinging in hot weather. Haven't had any problems with my truck, but I've only been towing up to about 5500.

I went from 3.55's to 4.10's. Thought about 4.56's but was afraid it would have been too low and also make noise. Kinda wish I had went with the 4.56's but I haven't made a road trip with the 4.10's yet to check gas mileage so I can't say for sure if I did the right thing yet.
