Default Exhaust/Header combo

If I get headers to clean up the log jam coming out of the heads, what exhaust should I get? Would getting a catback system just negate the effects? Should I run true dual or is that only if its not naturally aspirated? I was gonna get a Series 50 flowmaster catback with dual split rear exhausts, but should I get a larger diameter pipe? Talk to me guys.

Depends what you are doinf with your truck,,racing, towing?
true duals to my knowledge aren't smog legal either so if you have to pass a yearly inspection forget it. SInce I live in florida and we dont have an inspection here I run a true dual set up with an x pipe coming off the headers followed by a 3" pipe with dual 50 flowmasters that dump before the axle. Anything over 3" and you would probably lose too much back pressure.
But if you do have to pass an inspection a well made cat-back system and hi flow y-pipe will probably do nearly as well.

Well, I don't have to pass an inspection but I like to drag for a lil kick when I get the chance. I heard that dropping the backpressure for a HEMI (i.e. getting true duals) will drop your horse. I'm just wondering if getting headers with a normal catback is worth it.
