not to sound insulting, but have you reset you overhead. It does an "average" of all the miles you've done. I reset mine every week and it is sometimes off by as much as 4-5 mpg. It will say 13 mpg and I am getting closer to 17-18 in the city.

I occassionally get a bad tank of gas.

One tank I got 9.7 mpg, the next 12.2

Honestly though, the winter the trucks run in open loop mode for quite some time when its very cold outside. Mine just pours gas until its warmed up.

LOL....you get opposite results of me...

I reset my overhead everytime i fillup....and when i do a hand calculation....its usually off by about .75-1mpg reading higher than what I hand calculate it to be.

Yeah, winter sucks. My last three tanks have all been under 11 mpg.

If you really want to know your mileage, fill the tank every time and record the gallons and mileage.

My running total is 11,688 miles and 949.8 gallons ... 12.3 mpg. [:@]

This is more of a general automotive observation than anything Ram-specific, but did you take a look at your oxygen sensor yet?

They usually flake out around 60k or so (at least in my experience...), but if you get a few tanks of bad gas, it will coat the sensor and cause it to fail much earlier. Anyway, assuming you're doing mileage calculations by hand (ignore the computer), and you're seeing a serious recent drop in mileage, it's definitely worth a look. Bad sensor = rich fuel mixture = drop in mileage.

But as the others suggested, a tune-up at 50k certainly can't hurt...

Good luck!
