There isn't a programmer for the 04's yet I dont believe. Jet Chips makes a chip, but I havnt heard very many good things about it( worst being that the PCM resets to stock every couple of months). Get a CAI and exhaust, but stay away from the cutouts. The 4.7 needs the backpressure. You open those up and you can feel all the ponies slipping out of your tailpipe.
I am like you rrunner69, I have an LS1 camaro that runs 10's in the 1/4 all day. After that my truck just isnt as exciting.

NO engine likes "BACK PRESSURE" not one engine on earth likes it! BUT they do like HIGH VELOCITY and you can change the velocity by changing the volume of the system (ID OF PIPES) or the amount of air you flow through it (455ci vs. 348ci). If you flow less air (348ci or even our belovid 287ci) then you need less volume to keep the VELOCITY high. If flow more air then you need a larger system to again handle more volume... The goal is to keep the velocity high without creating "BACK PRESSURE"... If you go too large you LOSE velocity... If you go too small you gain back pressure....
