Wow is all I have to say.
Last weekend I took my truck to the dealer to get new brake pads. It took a couple hours so I'm walking about the lot checking out Mega Cabs, Power Wagons, etc. I make my way down to the end of the lot, and there sits a Charger SRT8. Bright Silver, big rims, hood scoop, spoiler, and dealer installed Borla exhaust. Price Tag? $56,000. They added some aftermarket crap to it, so that why they charged so much. Anyway, I'm standing there looking at it, and a salesman comes up and says, "Lets take her for a spin." After making sure I didn't cream my pants, I said sure. Behind the dealer is a long stretch of road, relatively flat, no traffic. I'm driving like a granny, and he tells me to open it up. Well, I floored it, and OH MY GOD. That thing has some serious *****. It put me back in my seat, handled like a dream. It felt light years ahead of my 5.7.
If they put anything even closely remote to the 6.1 in a Ram, I'll be trading in my 04. Personally, I'd have rather seen a 2 door Charger. But the 4 door makes it a wolf in sheeps clothing. Man, I'd love to sit in that thing, wait for some Mustang GT to pull up, see him talking crap because I have 4 door, and light him up.

Yeah 425 hp and I think 425 ft. lbs of torque. Very responsive, and it'll put you back in the seat. I'm a big guy, and it put me in my seat.

I'd love to test drive an SRT8 Charger.

Actually, it takes them 15 minutes to change them and charge you for 2 hours plus parts. Then they try to sell you a new car. Feeling the rip in rip-ped-off?

You see the concept Challenger with the 6.1 HEMI??? [sm=badbadbad.gif]
My wife is already in love with it - better start saving now to get one in '08!

Yeah I saw the Challenger. I am not a car guy . . . but if they build the car close to the concept, I'll trade in my truck. I love the retro styling, and if they put a larger Hemi in it, I'll get it.
As for the brake job taking two hours, yeah I'm sure they finished it early. They were pretty slammed for a Saturday. But honestly, the sales guy didn't pressure me, he knew I wasn't looking. When the test drive was done, I said thank you, and he went about his business. If he was trying to sell me something, he'd of tried the "lets go talk some numbers" game. He didn't.
