How rare is this? I have never seen one of these before. We just got it in on trade. It's a 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 Sport regular cab short box SLT, and it has the 5.9L 360 in it. I had no idea you could get that engine in an '03. This thing also only has 36k miles on it. A pretty cool truck IMO, very good condition. Anyone have any idea how rare of a truck this might be?

I wouldn't say they are too rare. I was just looking for the same truck with a hemi and while searching I probably ran across 5 of them.

 

better yet, how 'bout an 05 1500 with the 3.7 v6 ripped out and a 600+ rwhp twin turbo 12valve cummins droped in

I wouldn't say it's a rare truck, but I also wouldn't say it's a common truck either. The Hemi was a mid-year 2003 addition to the 1500 trucks, it did replace the 360, but not until they could get the capacity up after introducing the Heavy Duty series of trucks for 2003. Now if you found a 2003 2500 or 3500 with a 360 that would be extremely rare, because to my knowledge the 360 never made it into the 3rd generation Heavy Duty trucks.

 

Thanks for all the info everybody. I took it out for a drive and it runs ok, but a HEMI is no doubt better.
