Default Rear End Gears

I have not figured this answer out yet so here goes the question. I have a 2003 Ram 1500 4x4 with 3.92 gearing. Is this a "posi-traction" axle, or whatever other terms its reffered as? My g'pa has a Z71 and always says he has a "positive-traction" rear end. Is my axle in the same boat as his? BTW I do not believe his is 3.92. Its either 3.55 or 3.73, its a 2002 Z71.
Thanks for helping me figure out what kind of axle I have.

If you have the "limited SLIP" diff it would be the save as POSI traction... they all call it a different name although its the same thing. All you need to do is look in your glove box... you will find a white sticker which gives the details of your type of axle... or just climbe under the truck ... you should have stickers on either end of th eaxle which tells you whats in them... .

The glove box sticker just says axle: 3.92. Does that mean its not a LSD?

Someone had me put it in 4wd and turn the steering as much as I could and see if one back tire would spin as fast as the other, based on what this person saw they said it was LSD. What do you think?

you want a quick way to tell, just brake torque your truck until your rear wheels break loose. Then back up and see if you have one or two black lines. Ha Ha it's that simple!!!

Limited slip is the SAME as POSI... so if the sticker in your glove box says limited slip or LSD then you do infact have the DODGE version on the chevy POSI unit.

If you do NOT have LSD on your sticker than that means its a "ONE WHEEL WONDER"...
