2004 Dodge Quad Cab Hemi 4X4
Ok...long story short, Hit a HUGE pothole, and had the Right front lower control arm, right front steering knuckle, right front wheel and tire replaced.

While I was making my claim with the insurance company I had to drive on the damage for a few days with it out of alignment and there was a VERY noticeable "in-out" wobble vibration noise that came on strong when I approached 50-55 mph.

I had the dealership replace the parts and do the repair. Now I still feel a faint "in-out" wobble/vibration coming from the right front. They moved the new wheel and tire back to the right rear, but that still didn't remove the noise which is VERY noticeable to me. One of the techs took a ride with me, but he couldn't hear/feel what I was trying to pinpoint to him.

I am planning on taking the truck back in again to have them check everything, but I need some firepower. What can I tell them to check? They are a chrysler dealership and don't usually work on trucks, so I need to "guide" them on what to possibly check for.

Could a brake caliber be rubbing when I approach 50 or so? Could a wheel bearing have been damaged as well from the impact of hitting the pot hole? Could the frame had gotten bent...and if so, can they check for that some how?
Any ideas? Please advise if anyone has had damage similiar to this in the past. ANY suggestions will help.

Ball joints, shock, and your rotors/calipers are things I would at the very least check.

I would honestly find a dealership that works on trucks, namely a Dodge dealership. The reason I say this, is because sometimes even the best mechanic cant diagnose something if he doesnt deal with it very often.

THANK YOU! I'll have them check all of that. I wonder if they should go ahead and put in a new shock. This was a HARD hit...it took a chunk out of the 20' inch rim when I hit it.

 

You might also have them check the steering shock. If it loses its seal or is damaged internally, you can get that wobble also.

 

I would also file a complaint in the city where the pot hole was. They might even pay for your deductable. I think someone around here did the same thing a while back.

Also, the tire should have been replaced as it probably busted the steel and poly belts with a hit that hard.
