ram daytona front end instability
Welcome to DF. Is your truck a 4x2 or 4x4? I have a 2005 Dodge Ram Daytona 1500 4x4 w/hemi and a spoiler. I haven't had any problems with mine at all. If your not getting any results from whomever you spoke to go up the ladder and ask for the owner of the dealership. Has the Service Manager been helpful?
When I bought my truck the owner of the dealership helped me purchase my truck as they didn't carry the truck. I always get great service with my other truck Dodge Ram QC 1500 2004 4x4 w/hemi 5.7L v8. If the Service Manager can't help me then the owner will. But I haven't had that problem.
I'm sorry your experiencing this problem with the truck. How many miles did it have when you purchased the truck? Did you get the extended warranty?
I love my truck it rides great and it gets great gas mileage. Would like to hear how this turns out.
My truck was #06405 Color= GO MAN GO

Just curious what the front end instability sounds like. I have an 04' Ram 1500 4X4 Hemi w/11,000 miles and just recently I'm hearing some squeeling noise from the front end when I accelarate from a stop. I'm not sure what it is but concerned.
hello nan, I have the same style truck as you. I took it back to the shop last week and they couldnt find a problem but greased the front end (whatever that means) and did document the problem and that they couldnt find it-- but they could hear it. They asked me to drive it for a couple hundred miles and see if it still made the clunk in the front end, sounded like bad ball joints. I havent heard anything for the last 50 miles or so, so I believe whatever they did worked. Kinda shocked! But everything is quiet for now. Thanks for the response--loving the truck btw, although hating the factory stereo; gonna deal w/that now. Just traded in an 03 QC4x4 w/the same infinity system and the kenwood plugged in and played, no such luck here. Got the speakers in the doors switched out w/some nice infinitys, just need the new deck.
The instability turned out to be surface rust. I took it to another dealership w/a reputable service dept. they really spent some time on it and found some surface rust on the torsion bars. It was enought to make a clunking sound when turning & hitting a small bump. It was a hard find for a simple fix. The truck sat on the lot from april til I bought it in january, had like 20 miles on it. So they were sure it was just surface rust and it was, rides great and no clunks---not enough to be said about small town shops doing better quality work over big city from my experience.

What type of noise or feel did so that you thought it was front end problem? I have a 2005 Daytona Quad Cab 11000 miles, having trouble with it. I think its transmission problems, whenever I backup or drive into like a parking space the truck starts to shake and makes a grinding noise.
It's strange that the simplest things will make all the difference in the world. I traded an 02 Avalanche on the Daytona and I had a similar clunking noise from the front end, especially when going around a turn. As it turns out there was a service bulletin that instructed the service department to have to repack the grease in the slip coupler on the steering shaft when there was a customer complaint. When it was low on grease, you could swear that the front end was going to fall off, but a few pumps of the grease gun and all was right with the world.
