New to DF, have some questions for other Ram owners
Hello! I have a 2002 Ram 1500 QC with the 4.7. I love the truck! I do have a few things I would like to find out on it. When I make a turn at a slow speed, I hear a squeaking/rubbing noise. This is ONLY when turning. ALSO, when accelerating from a stop, SOMETIMES I feel a shudder up to about 10 mph. I have narrowed the squeaking down to rusty leaf springs. The shudder, I'm not so sure about. Anyone have these issues, or know of anyone who has? I greatly appreciate any and all insight into this matter.

Do you have 4WD or 2WD? How hard are you accelerating? If you have 2WD and are giving the accelator a good punch you maybe experiencing wheel hop. Especially if you still have the OEM tires on it.
I have a Hemi 2WD QC and it's pretty easy for me to get the wheels to hop in a firmly accelerating turn. I can get the same thing to happen in a straight line if I punch it hard from a stand still. It was much worse when I had the stock tires on it. Wheel hop creates a shuddering sensation. What happens is that when you are putting alot of torque down on the rear tires they will lose traction and without enough weight on them instead of squealing and "burning" they hop upwards until the suspension pushes them back down and this happens over and over very rapidly until you let up on the gas or get up to speed. Think of it as your tires are skipping or bouncing accros the pavement.
