does this system set the alarm off if someone pulls the lock up from outside the truck through the window? my cheap toyota prius did this, and i was hoping a $40,000 truck would have this as well. also is there a website about this system? a google search didn't really turn up any helpful results. thanks

 

They offered this to me when I bought my 2005 Ram 1500 QC. The way the explained it is there is no siren or loud alarm. The Sentry system recognizes you as the owner by the code set in your Keyless entry. The Sentry looks like a fuse and is on your fuse block under the hood. It looks like all the other fuses, so if a crook enters your car, pops the hood to see why it won't start, he/she won't be able to distinguish between the sentry module and another fuse. I had someone break into my truck, I have the factory EVS II sentry and the thief broke a window and stole my awesome rain jacket and my 2 million candlewatt searchlight that I use. He did not open the door but I did and it went off.

 

I recently purchased a 2012 Ram 1500 Big Horn. Last night someone set off the theft deterrent system (neighbor chased a couple of guys away from the truck before I coulc get outside). No damage to the truck so I am curious as to what they could have done to set it off.

 

My understanding is the only way it gets set off is if the door is opened
